On Tuesday, October 31, Gustavus Adolphus College and the Department of Religion inaugurated the new Åke & Kristina Bonnier Reading Room and Jewish Studies Library (OM 303).
Scores of donors to volumes for the Library, as well as students, staff, faculty, and administrators at the College attended the event.
The inauguration featured comments from President Becky Bergman, Provost Brenda Kelly, Religion Chair Thia Cooper, a keynote address by Rabbi Neil Sandler, emeritus rabbi of Ahavat Achim Synagogue in Atlanta, GA, as well as pre-recorded video welcome by Åke and Kristina Bonnier of Sweden, primary funders of the Reading Room and Library.
The Bonnier Reading Room is now open for use! And books are available for check-out. (And in-progress catalogue can be found here.)
The room can be reserved for classes and meetings through the College registrar. When not reserved, find a seat and settle in!
