I have started reading the Mahabharata, one of the great Hindu epics. I also am finishing D. Saraswati’s Satyartha Prakasha (“Light of Truth”), a work of Hindu philosophy. I read the Beowulf Epic, as well — he went out a true champion.
The contributions of ancient Judaism for understanding Christian origins is the subject of a book I am finishing, so I have worked daily on that issue throughout the summer (… and for many years).
